AUS40 supply at Dahej

Dahej sits on the Gulf of Khambhat and serves a large petrochemical and industrial zone, with LNG, chemical, liquid and solid cargo facilities operated by different parties under the same place name.

Name the specific terminal or jetty. Access conditions and safety requirements can differ, so confirm the receiving connection and approved delivery method with the agent.

What decides feasibility at Dahej

This is a hazardous-cargo environment and the safety regime reflects it. Entry permits, vehicle standards and restrictions on simultaneous operations are stricter than at a general cargo port, and clearance takes longer to arrange. A delivery here is a permitting exercise as much as a logistics one.

Confirm these before the enquiry:

  • The specific terminal or jetty, and its operator.
  • The entry permit process and how long it takes to obtain.
  • Whether stores movement is permitted during the cargo operation.
  • Any vehicle or equipment standard the terminal imposes.

Berth-side or barge delivery

PROTICKS provides barge delivery where berth or jetty-side supply is not accessible, subject to a suitable craft, port and terminal permission, vessel acceptance and weather.

Name the Dahej terminal operator and jetty. Do not apply a bulk-terminal access arrangement to a gas or liquid facility. Where tanker entry or jetty-side transfer is restricted, request a separately approved barge delivery plan.

For this call: Terminal-specific vehicle restrictions; permission for stores delivery alongside cargo work; approved pump drive and equipment documentation.

Neither an electric pump nor a fuel-engine pump is automatically permitted in a sensitive area. Confirm the terminal-approved equipment before dispatch. Barge delivery does not bypass cargo-operation or safety restrictions.

Facility reference: Gujarat Maritime Board: terminal distinctions. Current terminal instructions must be confirmed for your call.

Planning the notice period

Raise this one earlier than the other Gujarat ports. Permits and vehicle standards are obtained in advance and they set the timetable, not the product.

Send the vessel requirement

  • Vessel name and IMO number if available.
  • Port, terminal, berth or anchorage position.
  • ETA, ETB and ETD with date and time zone.
  • Quantity, preferred format and usable receiving capacity.
  • Local agent, company contact, documentation requirements, and whether you want PROTICKS to carry out the transfer.

Packaging & transfer

Choose 210 L drums, 1,000 L IBCs or an agreed bulk / ISO tank arrangement. Packaging does not determine the delivery route: road, barge or boat access must be assessed separately. Ask for pump kit, hoses, couplings, calibrated flow meter and personnel if needed, subject to terminal and vessel acceptance.

Review delivery and transfer planning.

Product & paperwork

PROTICKS AUS40 is ISO 18611 certified and meets the requirements of IS 17661 (Part 1):2022. Check whether the vessel is specified for AUS40 or AUS32, then check the batch Certificate of Analysis and current MSDS before approving supply. Product-document checklist.

Dahej: common questions

Why does Dahej need more lead time than other Gujarat ports?

Not distance. It is the permitting. The industrial and hazardous-cargo terminals here require entry clearance that has to be arranged in advance, and that is usually the longest item in the plan.

Which Dahej terminal should the enquiry name?

The one on the vessel call instructions. Dahej covers LNG, chemical and general cargo facilities run by different operators, and access conditions differ between them, so the terminal name determines what can be arranged.

Can AUS40 be delivered while the vessel is working cargo at Dahej?

Frequently not, and it should never be assumed. Simultaneous operations are restricted at several of the terminals here. Confirm the position with the terminal through your agent before planning the delivery around it.
