AUS40 supply at Ennore (Kamarajar)

Ennore, formally Kamarajar Port, is a major port on the Tamil Nadu coast north of Chennai. It handles coal, liquid cargo and automobile traffic across dedicated terminals and is administered separately from Chennai Port.

Confirm the call is at Ennore and not Chennai. They are separate ports with separate gates, and access cleared for one does not apply at the other.

What decides feasibility at Ennore (Kamarajar)

Ennore and Chennai are routinely treated as one location in enquiries and they are not. They have separate gates, separate procedures and separate agents, and an access arrangement cleared at Chennai has no standing at Ennore. Within Ennore itself the terminals are dedicated to particular cargoes, so the terminal name matters as well as the port name.

Confirm these before the enquiry:

  • Ennore, not Chennai. Confirm it against the call instructions.
  • The terminal, since they are dedicated to particular cargoes.
  • Gate and pass requirements for that terminal.
  • Whether the delivery can be made while cargo work is in progress.

Berth-side or barge delivery

PROTICKS provides barge delivery where berth or jetty-side supply is not accessible, subject to a suitable craft, port and terminal permission, vessel acceptance and weather.

Name the Ennore / Kamarajar terminal and berth. A container-terminal receiving plan should not be assumed suitable for an LPG or other liquid-cargo berth. Request barge assessment if the approved delivery route cannot use the jetty.

For this call: Terminal operator and cargo type; restrictions on tanker entry or concurrent stores supply; accepted pump drive and certification requirements.

Neither an electric pump nor a fuel-engine pump is automatically permitted in a sensitive area. Confirm the terminal-approved equipment before dispatch. Barge delivery does not bypass cargo-operation or safety restrictions.

Planning the notice period

Send Ennore's own berth, agent and arrival window. Anything confirmed at Chennai has to be arranged again here.

See how an order runs from enquiry to delivery.

Send the vessel requirement

  • Vessel name and IMO number if available.
  • Port, terminal, berth or anchorage position.
  • ETA, ETB and ETD with date and time zone.
  • Quantity, preferred format and usable receiving capacity.
  • Local agent, company contact, documentation requirements, and whether you want PROTICKS to carry out the transfer.

Packaging & transfer

Choose 210 L drums, 1,000 L IBCs or an agreed bulk / ISO tank arrangement. Packaging does not determine the delivery route: road, barge or boat access must be assessed separately. Ask for pump kit, hoses, couplings, calibrated flow meter and personnel if needed, subject to terminal and vessel acceptance.

Review delivery and transfer planning.

Product & paperwork

PROTICKS AUS40 is ISO 18611 certified and meets the requirements of IS 17661 (Part 1):2022. Check whether the vessel is specified for AUS40 or AUS32, then check the batch Certificate of Analysis and current MSDS before approving supply. Product-document checklist.

Ennore (Kamarajar): common questions

Is Ennore part of Chennai Port?

No. Ennore is Kamarajar Port, a separate major port north of Chennai. Clearance and access obtained for a Chennai call do not apply, so the port has to be stated correctly in the enquiry.

Which terminal should be named?

The one on the vessel call instructions. Ennore’s terminals are dedicated to specific cargoes and each sets its own access conditions, so the terminal name is what makes the enquiry workable.

The agent said Chennai. Which do we use?

Check the call instructions rather than the shorthand. Agents sometimes describe the whole area as Chennai, and that ambiguity is what causes a delivery to be arranged against the wrong port.
