AUS40 supply at Kolkata (Syama Prasad Mookerjee)
Kolkata, formally Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, is a riverine major port on the Hooghly, well upstream of the sea. Its dock systems lie in the city, and Haldia downstream is the same authority’s other dock complex.
Confirm the dock system and the river passage plan. Draught and tide govern the schedule up the Hooghly, so arrival times move more than at a coastal port.
What decides feasibility at Kolkata (Syama Prasad Mookerjee)
The river governs everything. Draught and tide decide when a vessel can move up and down the Hooghly, so arrival and departure times shift more than at a coastal port, and pilotage is part of the schedule rather than an incidental. A delivery window fixed against an early estimate is likely to move.
Confirm these before the enquiry:
- The dock system and berth, or the anchorage position.
- Kolkata or Haldia. They are different dock complexes under one authority.
- The latest river passage plan, since draught and tide drive the timing.
- Who receives the delivery and the window they can actually hold.
Berth-side or barge delivery
PROTICKS provides barge delivery where berth or jetty-side supply is not accessible, subject to a suitable craft, port and terminal permission, vessel acceptance and weather.
For Kolkata, distinguish a dock berth from a river mooring or anchorage, and from Haldia. Confirm the road route for a dock delivery. A river-side barge option needs assessment of the receiving position and permitted movement window.
For this call: Dock or river location; tide, transit and alongside window; permitted receiving equipment and lifting arrangements.
Neither an electric pump nor a fuel-engine pump is automatically permitted in a sensitive area. Confirm the terminal-approved equipment before dispatch. Barge delivery does not bypass cargo-operation or safety restrictions.
Planning the notice period
Say which dock complex applies, send the arrival window early, and update it. River passage times move more than a coastal port's.

Send the vessel requirement
- Vessel name and IMO number if available.
- Port, terminal, berth or anchorage position.
- ETA, ETB and ETD with date and time zone.
- Quantity, preferred format and usable receiving capacity.
- Local agent, company contact, documentation requirements, and whether you want PROTICKS to carry out the transfer.
Packaging & transfer
Choose 210 L drums, 1,000 L IBCs or an agreed bulk / ISO tank arrangement. Packaging does not determine the delivery route: road, barge or boat access must be assessed separately. Ask for pump kit, hoses, couplings, calibrated flow meter and personnel if needed, subject to terminal and vessel acceptance.
Product & paperwork
PROTICKS AUS40 is ISO 18611 certified and meets the requirements of IS 17661 (Part 1):2022. Check whether the vessel is specified for AUS40 or AUS32, then check the batch Certificate of Analysis and current MSDS before approving supply. Product-document checklist.
Kolkata (Syama Prasad Mookerjee): common questions
Is Kolkata the same call as Haldia?
They are two dock complexes of the same port authority, but they are far apart on the river and are worked separately. Confirm which one the vessel is at, because the arrangements are not interchangeable.
Why do timings move so much at Kolkata?
Because the passage up and down the Hooghly is governed by draught and tide. A vessel waits for water, so an early estimate is exactly that. Update the supply team when the passage plan firms up.
What should we send with the enquiry?
The dock and berth, the current river passage plan, the quantity and format, and the receiving party. That is enough to plan against a moving schedule.
