AUS40 supply at New Mangalore
New Mangalore is a major port on the Karnataka coast, deep enough for larger vessels and handling petroleum products and bulk cargo alongside general commercial traffic.
Identify the berth and whether the call is at a liquid or a dry cargo berth, since the safety regime and the permitted delivery method differ between them.
What decides feasibility at New Mangalore
The regime at a liquid berth is not the regime at a dry cargo berth. Safety requirements, permitted vehicle access and what may be carried out alongside cargo work all differ, so the berth type has to be established before a delivery method can be proposed.
Confirm these before the enquiry:
- The berth, and whether it is a liquid or dry cargo berth.
- Whether delivery is permitted while cargo operations are in progress.
- Port entry requirements for the vehicle and the driver.
- Who receives and signs on behalf of the vessel.
Berth-side or barge delivery
PROTICKS provides barge delivery where berth or jetty-side supply is not accessible, subject to a suitable craft, port and terminal permission, vessel acceptance and weather.
Specify the New Mangalore berth or offshore receiving location. For petroleum or gas-related calls, ask about both vehicle entry and equipment restrictions. If shore delivery cannot be accepted, a barge option needs its own approval.
For this call: Terminal and cargo-operation status; approved supply-craft access; permitted pump drive, equipment location and receiving connection.
Neither an electric pump nor a fuel-engine pump is automatically permitted in a sensitive area. Confirm the terminal-approved equipment before dispatch. Barge delivery does not bypass cargo-operation or safety restrictions.
Planning the notice period
Say which berth type as soon as it is allocated. Liquid and dry cargo berths run to different rules, and the rule set decides the lead time.

Send the vessel requirement
- Vessel name and IMO number if available.
- Port, terminal, berth or anchorage position.
- ETA, ETB and ETD with date and time zone.
- Quantity, preferred format and usable receiving capacity.
- Local agent, company contact, documentation requirements, and whether you want PROTICKS to carry out the transfer.
Packaging & transfer
Choose 210 L drums, 1,000 L IBCs or an agreed bulk / ISO tank arrangement. Packaging does not determine the delivery route: road, barge or boat access must be assessed separately. Ask for pump kit, hoses, couplings, calibrated flow meter and personnel if needed, subject to terminal and vessel acceptance.
Product & paperwork
PROTICKS AUS40 is ISO 18611 certified and meets the requirements of IS 17661 (Part 1):2022. Check whether the vessel is specified for AUS40 or AUS32, then check the batch Certificate of Analysis and current MSDS before approving supply. Product-document checklist.
New Mangalore: common questions
Why does the berth type matter at New Mangalore?
Because a petroleum berth is worked under a different safety regime from a dry cargo berth. What is permitted alongside, and when, follows from that, so the berth has to be named before the delivery can be planned.
Is New Mangalore the same as the old Mangalore port?
No. New Mangalore is the major port at Panambur. Use the port name shown on the vessel call instructions rather than the city name on its own.
How much notice is sensible here?
Send the requirement as soon as the call is fixed. Where a lifting arrangement or a bulk transfer is involved, that notice is what makes it workable.
