AUS40 supply at Vadinar

Vadinar is an oil terminal port on the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat. A significant part of the vessel work here happens at offshore moorings rather than at a conventional berth, which is the single fact that shapes every supply enquiry for the port.

Say whether the vessel works alongside or at an offshore mooring. That single fact decides whether a road delivery is possible or a launch has to be arranged.

What decides feasibility at Vadinar

Whether the vessel is alongside or at an offshore mooring decides whether a delivery is a road movement or a waterborne one. The two are not variations of the same job: they need different equipment, different permissions and different notice. An enquiry that does not say which cannot be assessed.

Confirm these before the enquiry:

  • Alongside or offshore mooring. State it plainly.
  • If offshore, whether a launch or barge can be arranged and by whom.
  • The terminal or mooring name and the agent handling the call.
  • The expected working period, since a transfer at a mooring is weather-dependent.

Berth-side or barge delivery

PROTICKS provides barge delivery where berth or jetty-side supply is not accessible, subject to a suitable craft, port and terminal permission, vessel acceptance and weather.

Specify the operator and whether the Vadinar call is at an offshore mooring or a product jetty. Ask for barge delivery assessment if shore access is unavailable; jetty access and an SPM approach require different approvals.

For this call: Operator and mooring identity; current marine/weather restrictions; terminal-approved transfer equipment and timing.

Neither an electric pump nor a fuel-engine pump is automatically permitted in a sensitive area. Confirm the terminal-approved equipment before dispatch. Barge delivery does not bypass cargo-operation or safety restrictions.

Facility reference: Nayara: marine facilities. Current terminal instructions must be confirmed for your call.

Planning the notice period

Say alongside or offshore in the first message. The rest of the plan follows from that one line, so it also decides how much notice is enough.

See how an order runs from enquiry to delivery.

Send the vessel requirement

  • Vessel name and IMO number if available.
  • Port, terminal, berth or anchorage position.
  • ETA, ETB and ETD with date and time zone.
  • Quantity, preferred format and usable receiving capacity.
  • Local agent, company contact, documentation requirements, and whether you want PROTICKS to carry out the transfer.

Packaging & transfer

Choose 210 L drums, 1,000 L IBCs or an agreed bulk / ISO tank arrangement. Packaging does not determine the delivery route: road, barge or boat access must be assessed separately. Ask for pump kit, hoses, couplings, calibrated flow meter and personnel if needed, subject to terminal and vessel acceptance.

Review delivery and transfer planning.

Product & paperwork

PROTICKS AUS40 is ISO 18611 certified and meets the requirements of IS 17661 (Part 1):2022. Check whether the vessel is specified for AUS40 or AUS32, then check the batch Certificate of Analysis and current MSDS before approving supply. Product-document checklist.

Vadinar: common questions

Why does Vadinar need the mooring detail before anything else?

Because a vessel at an offshore mooring cannot be reached by road. The delivery has to be planned as a waterborne transfer, which needs different arrangements and more notice. Everything else in the quotation follows from that one answer.

Can weather delay a delivery at Vadinar?

A transfer at an exposed mooring depends on sea state, so it can be delayed. Build that into the plan rather than assuming a fixed slot, and give the widest workable window you can.

Is Vadinar the same port as Kandla?

No. Both are on the Gulf of Kutch but they are separate facilities with separate access. Give the port and the terminal in the enquiry.
